Make Shift Do: Open Workshop Days

Digital Embroidery Open Days and Workshops

Following on from a successful participation in the Crafts Council’s  Make Shift Do event in 2015, Jacky Puzey Embroidery will again open the doors of the Digital Embroidery workshop for Make:Shift:Do 2016, on October 28 and 29.

On Friday 28th October, there will be an Open Day for all visitors, from 2pm-6pm. The Open Workshop Days are a chance to explore the technology and possibilities of digital embroidery as an innovative craft activity. Visitors to the Open Workshop will be able to experience the workings and processes of my digital embroidery workshop, from viewing samples and discussing new making ideas and possibilities, to participating in demonstrations of the embroidery software and machinery. Those who can’t make it will be able to follow regular visual updates on Instagram, FB and Twitter.

On Saturday 29th October, I am running two in-depth workshops, working with wearable tech start-up Bonnie Binary. Each workshop will allow 2 participants to create their own piece of wearable technology from start to finish, as an in-depth experience, through a combination of electronics and digital embroidery. Workshop 1 runs from 10am-12noon, and Workshop 2 runs from 1-3pm.  Workshop participants should be over 18; perhaps you are a fashion student wanting to experiment with wearable technology? Perhaps you are a technology enthusiast who wants to try an embroidered interface rather than a sleek screen? Perhaps you fancy making your own simple wearable gadget? Contact me to book onto the workshop and for further information.

From 3-6pm, the workshop will again be open to visitors as on Friday.
